The aim
Be the first to get rid of every card you have: the twelve in your hand, the four face-up in front of you, and the four face-down “blind” cards underneath them. When someone goes out, everybody else is stuck with the points still in front of them. Lowest score wins.
Your turn
Play one to four cards of the same rank onto the pile. They have to be equal to or lower than the card on top. From low to high the order is A, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, J, Q, K. Suits never matter.
You may play a higher card, but then you pick up the whole pile first and your cards start a new one.
Cards from your hand and your face-up row can go down together if they match.
The swipe
The pile is swiped off the table, out of the game, when:
- someone plays a ten. Tens have no rank and can go on anything.
- the top four cards are the same rank, whether one player lays all four or the set builds up over several turns.
Whoever made the swipe takes another turn and may play anything. One exception: four of a kind played on top of a lower card still swipes the pile, but the turn ends there.
A set never grows past four. If three eights are on top, you may add one, not two.
Blind cards
A blind card can be played once the face-up card on top of it is gone. You don’t get to look first: tap it, confirm, and it is flipped for everyone to see. It has to be played right away. If you hold cards that match it, they can go with it. If it is too high, the pile is yours.
Scoring
Aces are 1. Two to nine are face value. Jacks, queens and kings are 10. Tens are 20, so don’t get caught holding them.
Scores carry over from game to game. The match ends when someone reaches the points limit (100 unless the host changes it), and the lowest total wins. The first lead goes to the highest hand; after that, whoever went out leads the next game.
The cards
Two decks are shuffled together for 3 or 4 players, and one more for every two players after that. Everyone is dealt 20 cards; the rest sit the game out.
